The West Highland Way

For those seeking a classic long‑distance challenge, the West Highland Way is one of Scotland’s most iconic routes. Stretching 68 miles between Glasgow/Milngavie and Fort William, it takes you through some of the country’s most rugged and dramatic terrain. Highlights include Rannoch Moor, the shores of Loch Lomond, and the famous Devil’s Staircase in Glencoe.

The Speyside Way

If you prefer something gentler but equally beautiful, the Speyside Way is a fantastic alternative. Running from the area above Grantown‑on‑Spey to Spey Bay, this route leads you through the heart of whisky country. Expect riverside paths, peaceful forests, and the chance to pass some of Scotland’s most famous distilleries along the way.

Munro Bagging with VDubs

For those who love a challenge, the northern Highlands offer access to some truly spectacular Munros. This part of Scotland is home to rugged peaks, sweeping ridgelines and views that make every step worthwhile. Whether you’re tackling the iconic Ben Hope (the most northerly Munro in Scotland) or exploring the dramatic Assynt landscape around Ben More Assynt and Conival, you’ll find climbs that reward you with unforgettable panoramas. Travelling in a VDub means you can park up nearby the night before and start your ascent with the sunrise lighting up the glens.
